For the first time, the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) and the Valley Green Team of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) join efforts to provide an educational academy to businesses throughout the Valley on the environmental regulatory framework and compliance. The Business Academy for Regulatory Compliance (BARC) will be offered on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the WOODWARD PARK REGIONAL LIBRARY, 944 East Perrin Avenue, Fresno, CA 93720. Cal/EPA reached out to the Chamber and its Valley Green Team programs for its’ input, expertise, and assistance in developing a business outreach module similar to the type of training or “Academy” that Cal/EPA puts their inspectors through. This training aims to provide information and details about what Cal/EPA and its sister agencies regulate and how they and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) can provide compliance assistance to businesses. The Chamber has been a leader in assisting businesses reduce their costs of doing business through environmental stewardship since 2006.
